Access Statement for Quality Bed and Breakfast
Introduction
Our B&B aims to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home. We offer one twin bedroom en-suite and serve a continental breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival
We are a 20 minute walk from the town. You can contact us via phone or email (details below).
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
On arrival at 29 Roundway Park, there is a Quality in Tourism sign in the garden.
There is ample parking on the drive or roadside.
The drive has a slight slope on it and a gravel surface.
There is a 2.20 m brick paved area in front of the door.
The porch door is 80 cm wide and has two steps into it; the first is
10cm and the second 15cm.
We have a push button bell in the porch at 1.50 m
We can assist guests with luggage
Public Transport
There are good bus and train services from Swindon, Salisbury Chippenham and Trowbridge. For more information: Ask us or go to www.kennet.gov.uk Tel: 01380 734669.
Arriving by Public Transport - Buses
Devizes Town Centre is served by the following major bus services which run approximately every hour during the daytime on Weekdays.
Bus number 49 - From Swindon, Avebury & Trowbridge (operated by the “Stagecoach” bus company)
Bus number 49 passes within 550m from our house as does the Town Minibus service “D” which picks up in Devizes Market Place
Bus number 272/273 - From Bath & Melksham (operated by the “First” bus company)
Bus number 33 / X33 - From Chippenham (operated by APL Travel)
Bus number 2 - From Salisbury (operated by the Wilts & Dorset Bus Company)
Anyone wishing to visit Stonehenge by public transport from Devizes is therefore advised to take bus number 2 to Salisbury, then change on to the “Stonehenge Tour” bus at Salisbury bus station (see http://www.thestonehengetour.info/
Lacock can be reached fairly easily by taking the Devizes bus and changing to the Chippenham bus at Melksham.
All of these services are normally operated by easy access buses with wheelchair spaces, but please note that very few buses run during the evening and only services 49 & 272 run on Sundays or on Public Holidays.

Arriving by Public Transport - Trains
There is no rail station in Devizes but the bus services listed above pass close to the rail stations in Swindon, Salisbury, Trowbridge and Chippenham. Information on train times can be obtained by ringing National Rail Enquires on 08457 48 49 50 or visiting the National Rail website at http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ . Please note that although the train stations at Pewsey and Westbury are fairly close to our town, there are very few buses.

Main Entrance
There is a 15cm step over the threshold and the door is 80cm wide.
The hall is 2.70m by 1.70m and has a wooden floor with a non-slip mat at the door. The wooden floored passage is 1.20m by70 cm and leads to the breakfast room, lounge and garden.
Public Areas on the Ground Floor
The floor covering in the kitchen is vinyl going onto
short pile carpet.
Breakfast is served in the breakfast room and is on the ground floor. Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
The pedestal dining table has underspace of 62cm and is 73cm high by 1.10m wide. The chairs can be moved and there is a chair with arms if required. We have listed items that maybe of help to our guests.
Including things that we serve for our continental breakfast,(this information is in the bedroom). We sometimes have the radio on in the breakfast room.
Laundry
We can put clothing to dry and do washing on request (although we can’t guarantee it will be dry by morning).

Bedroom
The stairs to the first floor have 13 stairs and are 20cm high,22cm deep and 78cm wide with a hand rail 85cm high and has a short pile carpet. The bedroom door is75cm wide. The bedroom has a short pile carpet and twin beds. Width to the side of the beds is 45cm with a chest of draws on the other wall. The beds are 55cm high. On the chest of draws there is a well stocked hospitality tray with a drinks cooler for your fresh milk.
There is also a digital TV, radio/alarm clock DVD player, hair dryer and bathrobes. One small stool 47cm high can be used to put your suitcase on.
Good colour contrasts of floor, walls, fittings and fixtures.
En-suite shower room. Door 60cm outward opening. Floor space 1.65m by 65cm The shower cubicle has a step/edge of 27cm. The basin 80cm high is free standing and has clear underspace. The toilet is 41cm high. Good colour contrasts of floor, walls, fittings and fixtures. Shower and toilet mats.
Garden
You are welcome to use the garden and summer house. There are two steps into the garden, each of 20cm.
Additional Information
We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation. If you require more assistance for evacuation, please notify us on arrival.
We are non-smoking (smoking is allowed in the garden)
The drinks cooler in the bedroom can be used for medication/drinks and we can put larger items in our main fridge on request.
Bicycles and other large items can be locked in the garage.
