Breakfast and environmental issues
Breakfast
We serve breakfast at a time convenient to our guests.
We offer a Continental breakfast, eggs/beans on toast using organic, Fair Trade and local produce where possible. You can choose from a good range of cereals, porridge, brown or white toast, croissants, fresh seasonal fruit salad, natural & fresh fruit yogurts, fruit juices, preserves, dried fruit and nut tray. All accompanied by a selection of teas and coffee.
Green Issues
Byde-A-Whyle Bed and Breakfast is in a quiet location overlooking Roundway Hill, with a view of The Devizes Millennium White Horse. This is a wonderful view and reminds us of the beautiful county we live in, prompting us to try to live in the most green and sustainable away as possible.
We are committed to doing our best to help the environment that we live in by:
• Solar MCS, PC panels. PC output: 3.85 KWp
• Using low energy light bulbs
• Switching off standby lights
• Composting, recycling, reusing as much as possible
• Purchasing local, organic and Fair Trade products
• Cleaning and washing using eco friendly products
• Promoting public transport. Also see Access Statement, Click here
• Promoting local organisations such as Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Church, Local
• Thertre and The National Trust
Ann and I also support FARM Africa helping to support farmers in Africa.
We are a short walk from town, which offers a good range of shops and places of interest to visit. A traditional market is held on Thursdays and a Farmers Market on the first Saturday of the month. Also see Local Area, click here.
There is a good bus service from Devizes to the nearby City of Salisbury, the Georgian City of Bath, Swindon, Avebury Trowbridge, Chippenham, Melksham, Marborough and Stonehenge via Salisbury. Access Statement for Public Transport and Pre Arrival, click here.
The location is ideal for walking, cycling and canoeing.
